mother's day

i hope all you moms out there had a great mother's day weekend  here's some recaps from ours..

we went to paradise cove (i think) in malibu on saturday for *brunch* and it was very nice. they had their own private beach!

us girls inside the restaurant.

haha.. mommy holding up her really big piece of bread that looks like a potato that turned out to have a baked potato on the inside.. whaddya know..

here's the dinner i made for sunday. mmm.

yummy cake!

mrs. ho and mommy.. she came over for dinner with us.

and here's a completely unrelated picture from us eating at maggianos at the grove a couple weeks ago.

i hardly ever update xanga anymore, huh? well, what are u going to do.. graduation is coming up pretty soon. after that.. life

disney world

spring break 2007 was definitely the most eventful spring break of my life  for the first half of it i was in florida, where apparently there's as much water as there is land.. LoL.

the first glimpse of our resort from the disney magical express that took us from the airport to disney world.

a couple pictures of the outside of our hotel.

pop, pop

for those of you who have never been, disney world is made up of four main parks: epcot, magic kingdom (which is almost just like disneyland), animal kingdom, and disney-mgm studios. i'll separate our pictures into those four categories now.

epcot

entering the park..

i'm dancing with tigger.. it was kind of embarassing posing for this picture. haha!

when we were on the land ride, we saw all these amazing crops that were planted in what looked like.. plain sand.. in the disney greenhouses. the stuff they're doing there is so cool. we eat winter melons fairly often at my house, but i've never seen one even a quarter the size of these.

instead of planting these tomatoes in soil, they're using this machine to spray the roots with water and nutrients. they're actually growing!

apparently just one of these lemons is enough to make a gallon of lemonade.

walking around the world showcase. you can see the epcot ball thing in the distance!

here we are in japan.

i think this is england.. i'm not too sure.

when in norway, dress like a viking.

when in mexico, wear a sombrero to protect yourself from the sun.

i don't know why i couldn't see very clearly with that scope..

charles is ready to transform into superman.

i'm overly excited about that DNA.

waiting to enter the test track ride.

outside the finding nemo ride, hanging with the seagulls.

this is the inside of the coral reef restaurant, which is kind of connected to the nemo ride. it's cool because it's like eating in an aquarium with all sorts of cool animals swimming inside.

i don't really have anything to say about this one. haha.

help! help!

we love them sharks.

we were waiting around for the fireworks show *illuminations: reflections of earth* to start.

it was so hard to get this picture to come out unblurry!

magic kingdom

we had breakfast at the crystal palace with winnie the pooh and his friends!

in front of the castle. doesn't it look just like disneyland?

entrance picture.

sitting down, waiting for the fireworks to begin in THIS park. i guess we didn't take too many pictures at the magic kingdom because.. well.. it's just like disneyland!

animal kingdom

that big tree was so great..

we thought this naked mole rat burrow was pretty great. they have different rooms for stuff, like a kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom. they're so naked and smart.

"hey! my shirt matches!"

these are the glasses we got to wear for the "it's tough to be a bug!" show. we're naturals.

disney-mgm studios

cute little matching mickeys.

the robot started spitting out water as soon as we tried to take the picture. we freaked out.

this is the outside of our hotel, not a set! haha, i wish.

finding my way through a web in the "honey, i shrunk the kids" play area.

we're teaching this giant ant to carry us home.

it was pretty incredible meeting the incredibles.

that's it! we took a lot more pictures than that, but obviously i had to stop somewhere. i hope everyone else had as much fun during spring break as i did.

omg new post!

so i know it seems like i forgot about xanga a long time ago, but i'm here to tell you the truth. yeah, it's true. i'm like xanga? what? but yes, here i am, back, because it's finals week, and we all know what i like to do when faced with exams. study.

my family went to sequoia over the long weekend in february and we had a lot of fun. we took so many pictures it's ridiculous. here are some of my favorites..

going to see the giant forest museum..

the whole family by the general sherman tree.. biggest tree in the world. it's the one in the far back.

going on a ranger-led snowshoe walk.

we kept driving up and up but the snow started coming down harder and we were afraid we wouldn't be able to make it down in time so we stopped at this one random place to take some pictures before going back.

then we decided to go to the wuksachi lodge and buy a couple of these poster board looking things to sled down the hills

it was pretty great.

last photo opportunity as we went back down the mountains. it was so breathtakingly beautiful and natural up there.

well, on with some more random pictures..

bethany and teddy eating with us at koji.

george and jackie.. pigging out

fruity, charles, and me. i was so worried we wouldn't be able to eat everything.

here they are, waiting for a lane to open up at gable house.

oh, bowling with 6 people on a lane is SO much fun!

i wish i were as good at regular bowling as i am at wii bowling. look at my score.. and look at charles' score. har har.

i'm trying to be like that guy who lost almost 10 pounds playing 30 minutes of wii boxing a day for a month, but it makes me so tired! i don't think i'm cut out for boxing.. haha.

for fruity's 22nd birthday, our families went out to eat at chart house. happy birthday last month, david  andrew's next!

i don't even remember when exactly this happened, but johng and george came to vdc and we played pool (apparently). i must really be losing it. haha no seriously i do remember this happening but i can't remember when.

daddy would be so proud..

daniel and i never really celebrated our acceptances to harvard and scco, respectively, so we went to dinner at ruth's chris. hey.. on second thought.. i think daniel DID celebrate his acceptance quite a few times.. ahem.

that's that for my pics. i'm really tired of uploading them.. so yes. but you can expect more when i get back from disney world next week!

i really like this cereal-on-the-go thing! it's so great. it's got a place to hold your milk and a spoon and everything! i want one. who else wants one!? they're only like $9 each.. $7 if you get two or more.

last time i was in taiwan, i saw these toothbrush holders and i really liked them so charles' mom got me the giraffe one. they're super cute.. they have two suction cups on the back (so i keep it stuck to my bathroom mirror) and the snap open in the front and when you put your toothbrush in, they snap closed! it's supposed to be very hygenic and there's all these holes on the side to keep your toothbrush well ventilated but to keep possible flies and spiders inside your house away from your toothbrush. handy, eh? they're so great! i saw them online and got all excited again.
